My Story

Running Southampton Marathon I would like to raise money for Age UK Surrey as I have always felt passionate about supporting older people and am of the opinion that they deserve the best quality of life possible. Unfortunately this is not always the case for a lot of older people across Britain. There has been a worrying rise in social isolation and loneliness amongst older people which brings about other deteriorating health factors.

Working in Older People Mental Health Services I am very aware of the benefits Age UK Surrey’s involvement has provided to some of the older people I have worked with. Age UK Surrey provide a wide range of activities to help older people remain independent, healthy and active, and connected with the community. I hope with the support from all of us Age UK Surrey can continue to carry out their invaluable contributions to this generation so that they can continue to live a fulfilled, enjoyable and dignified life, free from isolation, poverty, abuse and discrimination.
